Dear Customer,
I thought I would send you the updates we have from our carriers and our HO regarding the changes that we can expect from Jan 2022. It is still a Grey area so we will have to wait for further updates as we go along from the Govt starting 2022.
- From Jan 2022 then a statement of origin is no longer enough, proof of origin will be required
- What counts as proof and when its needed is the bit that is hard to nail down a straight answer, but it looks like proof will be : a certificate of origin / a EU1 form / a GSP form A / importers knowledge
- To obtain a Certificate of Origin then application must be made to the Chamber of Commerce – this can be provided same day starting at £92.60 or within one day at £53.30 (members discount available)
- An EUR1 form can be used to claim preferential rates (as agreed in the TCA) – this can be provided within one day and the cost starts at £47.40 (members discount available)
- UK based suppliers may be asked to provide a supplier’s declaration to prove:
- the UK origin of the goods
- any processing or value you’ve added to the goods if they are non-originating
A lot of details are still awaiting confirmation so for the latest updates please see the below links :
